A press release in October 2009 confirmed that the governor had indeed declined to sign the Bill400 that was passed by the Californian Senate on September 11th 2009.

The bill was originally written as “The Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program”, and then was amended to ban the sale of electric cigarettes to minors, which was very supportable. Additional wording in the bill would have also banned the sale of electronic cigarettes in the state of California to adults.

In a statement on the California Government web site, Governor Schwarzenegger made it clear that there is a difference between the freedoms of adults and children. In the letter, the governor made the following comments.

“I am returning Senate Bill 400 without my signature. While I support restricting access of electronic cigarettes to children under the age of 18, I cannot sign a measure that also declares them a federally regulated drug when the matter is currently being decided through pending litigation. Items defined as “tobacco products” are legal for anyone over the age of 18. If adults want to purchase and consume these products with an understanding of the associated health risks, they should be able to do so unless and until federal law changes the legal status of these tobacco products. For this reason, I am unable to sign this bill. Sincerely, Arnold Schwarzenegger”

California had been instrumental in banning smoking in public places in the USA and the ‘ban’ on e cigarettes looked like they would be among the first places to stop sales of the alternative smoking aids.

Some pet hates among parents are jeans that sit too low on the hips, plunging necklines and hot pants. A particular bugbear is inappropriate lettering emblazoned across buttocks or chest. Exerting some influence over a child’s choice of clothing while she’s still under ten is simply common sense. The taller girl’s parents need to shop around, rather than let her dress in inappropriately tight or lurid outfits.

There is a great deal to be said for allowing a child to stay young and innocent for as long as possible, while still tuning into the relatively harmless lyrics of Justin Bieber’s songs. (After all, he did gain the accolade of being fifth in a poll for ‘Best Good Example of 2009’.)

The freedom afforded by wearing colourful loose items like Capri pants, cotton dresses and free-floating tops is far more desirable than being squeezed into ‘sexy’ items that can only make the wearer feel restricted and self-conscious. There are gorgeous colours, capturing the zing of spring and summer, and, best of all, the girl dressed this way looks charming, not cheap, something nice boys like Justin normally appreciate.

Plastic surgery queen, Sharon Osbourne has allegedly announced that Paris Hilton has no talent, tell us something we don’t know!

Hilton, is friends of the Osbourne bratz, Kelly and Jack, or was until their mother aired her views to the media, when she said,

“She has no talent.  I’m sure Paris would tell you that herself.”  Probably not actually!

In Mrs Osbourne’s opinion,

The couple were due to marry a month earlier but 24-hours before the event, the wedding was called off due to personal issues and work commitments, yeah right!

The couple are known to have a turbulent relationship and it was reported that while staying at a hotel in Los Angeles in 2006, they had a bit of a scuffle.  His partner, now wife,  was left with bruises on her upper body, face and scratches to her legs while he had scratches to his face and arms.

Sounds to me like they’re made for each other, let them get on with it, another divorce on the cards.

Halle Berry is fuming after the paparazzi took photographs of her and her baby daughter while she was in her own backyard.

Miss Berry has said in a statement,

It is a “very blatant and invasive trespass.  The paparazzi have gone too far.  [Gabriel] and I have always remained that we would never sell baby photos or otherwise exploit her in any way.

I will do everything I can for the sake of her safety and well-being to keep her out of the public eye…I intend to do everything I can to make sure the photographer who illegally intruded into my home is criminally prosecuted.”

Good for her, why should they be allowed to get away with it.  More and more we are hearing of celebrities being prosecuted for damaging the camera’s etc of paparazzi, is it any surprise.  What gives them the right to be able to intrude to the degree that they do, just so they can make a nice little earner out of the snaps!

I couldn’t believe the photographs posted in the daily papers this week, the room and rubbish bin where Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt celebrated the birth of their twins, my life feels so much more enriched for them.

Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, don’t know how incredibly lucky to be given the names chosen for them, after a 9-year-old girl in New Zealand has been made a ward of Court for her name.

Talula does the Hula from Hawaii, for some reason is embarrassed for the name given to her by her sadistic parents.  The poor kid told her school mates her name was “K” because she feared being “mocked and teased”.

The Judge who heard the case back in February said,

“It makes a fool of the child and sets her up with a social disability and handicap, unnecessarily.”  The child’s new name is being kept secret to protect her identity.

The 44-year-old, has the fat vacuumed from her thighs, has her eyes Botoxed and has her silicone breasts drained to reduce them to a more normal size.  She has been given a face-lift, eye-lift, fat injections in her face, liposuction and a breast lift.

The programme is called ‘From Old To New: Brigitte Nielsen in the Celebrity Clinic’.  She will also be seen getting new teeth, and it’s all in aid of her hoping to pose once again for ‘Playboy’, as she last did 20-years-ago.  Is it really worth it!

The rumour mills are going into over-drive with reasons why Mr & Mrs Madge are calling it a day. Apparently Guy can’t stand the sight of his wife and finds the whole world domination superstar thing she has going an embarrassment. We all liked the idea of Madge settling down with Guy in quaint old England, shopping in M&S and walking to the local for a pint with her hubby, and I’m sure as their family grew that’s what he envisioned. Maybe even she did while the lifestyle was still a novelty, but someone as focused and determined to succeed in everything she does as Madonna, is never going to swap her Queen of Pop crown for a pair of slippers!

They now have to decide how to divide their £278.8 million fortune. Anyone want to bet Madonna will come out tops? And that Guy probably won’t care!
