As us mere mortals battle our way through the credit crunch that was bought upon us by the greed of the already filthy rich speculators around the world, the last thing I want to see is that another ‘celebrity’ is being offered a 100% pay rise to continue appearing in the awful X Factor series.
Smarmy little Simon Cowell is said to be so intent on keeping Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole on the show that he is prepared to offer her a £1million pay rise to sign up for next years series.
According to figures in the Daily Mail, Cole is already ‘earning’ 40% more than desperate Dannii Minogue who gets a meagre £50,000 per week for the 12 shows. The increase in Coles salary is likely to cause more friction between the two female ’stars’.
Former panelist Sharon Osbourne fought for a £500,000 increase earlier in the year before quitting the show.
Sadly this cheap to run tv show pockets millions for it’s producers and presenters while producing more second rate ‘celebrities’ who will generally disappear almost as fast as they arrive.
